This is the figure of a Allison 250 C30 Engine which is installed in the Bell 206 L The 206 B C20 engine is nearly identicalThe C20 (Bell 206B), C30 (Bell 206L), and C47 (Bell 407) are all similar. The C47 engine incorporates a FADEC which consists of an automated start feature
The blue section forward of the gear box is the compressor section, the compressor air travels down two tubes (only one is pictured) ducting the compressed air to the turbine section at the aft of the engine. The turbine sections are aft of the gear box. Notice that the N1 "gas producer turbine" shaft passes through the hollow N2 "power turbine" shaft. The N1 turbine shaft is splined to the compressor shaft for a direct drive of the compressor. The N2 turbine shaft is geared to the power output shaft/gear in the center of the figure. Note that there is no direct mechanical connection between the N1/Compressor and the N2 power turbine.
